Autopilot Attitude Gyro, Lear 2175A, RAF?Here is an Attitude Gyro component of a 1950's era Lear Autopilot System (the exact early Lear system has not been determined). This pneumatic gyro appears quite similar to those used in RAF aircraft produced by Sperry (especially the British label "Do Not Jar, Handle Like Eggs") but with an electrical pick off at the back, which likely transmitted the aircraft's attitude to the autopilot controller. Good Enough
This doesn't fit precisely into place. You can see in the photo that the pleats just end with no frame on the sides to seal to the body of the housing. You can wiggle the end pleat into place but there's nothing holding it there so I don't know how long it will stay there. Not a big deal for me, but if you live on a dirt road, there could be enough air bypassing the filter that you may get a dusty car sooner. Price was fine, but I won't buy this filter again.
