Vegetal de la Grande-Chartreuse69% ABV Vegetal de la Grande Chartreuse is the predecessor to and essence of the legendary Green Chartreuse. It's been produced by Carthusian monks from the Grande Chartreuse Monastery north of Grenobles, France since 1605. Their holy order dates back to the 11th century and some version of this product was developed as a medicinal tonic. It has only been available in the States for a few years and used to be a much smuggled bottle by bartenders
