During 1823 an Excise Act was pushed through by the Duke of Gordon Smiths's landlord to stop illicit distilling. Gordon then persuaded Smith to take out the first licence and he also helped to set

Not very durable
It took my dog less than 5 minutes to chew off one side of handle. The rest of the ball seems to be durable with him chewing and playing with it. Very disappointing since wanted to use the handle for tug a war with dog.
